Lisa (Dorward) Nimeh
The late 1980s and 1990s was the golden
era of Allen High softball and Nimeh was a poised, hard-throwing
pitcher who provided a major building block in the Chicks'
rise to prominence.
Nimeh was an all-star pitcher in leading
Allen to its first-ever EPC divisional title and District
11 tournament appearance in 1987. The Chicks finished
second to CCHS in the 1987 3A district tournament and
qualified for the state playoffs.
She earned a scholarship from Rutgers
and set a school record for complete games in 1989 when
she also led the Scarlet Kings to the Penn State Invitational
title and was an all-tournament selection. Nimeh was
also named an Atlantic 10 Conference all-star.
Nimeh continued her involvement with the
sport as the pitching coach at Lehigh University from
1992-95 and helped the Mountain Hawks win three Patriot
League titles.
She also served as pitching coach at Muhlenberg
College from 1996-98 and her legacy continues even today,
as the mother of three. She is now the coach of a 10-and-under
tournament team.
